PREP GIRLS BASKETBALL: Lumberjacks fall in season opener

LAPWAI — Macie Rimel scored a team-high 15 points for the St. Maries Lumberjacks in a 77-48 loss to defending state 1A Division I champion Lapwai Wildcats in the season opener for both schools on Saturday.

Lacie Sines scored eight points for St. Maries, which is scheduled to host Lakeside on Tuesday.

Glory Sobotta scored 25 points for Lapwai.
