COEUR d’ALENE — For those who want to be cozy and warm while overlooking Lake Coeur d'Alene on chilly nights this winter, Whispers in The Coeur d'Alene Resort literally has you covered.

Introducing: Indulgent Igloos.

Three outdoor "igloo" structures are now on the Whispers patio, ready to provide fresh air and privacy for guests 21 and older. The 12-foot-by-12-foot igloos seat up to six guests in cushy chairs surrounding heaters and electric fireplaces with front-row views of the lake and The Resort Boardwalk holiday lights displays. The clear vinyl covering allows for a temperature-controlled environment while taking in the sights.

"Patio dining was a big trend this summer for Whispers Lounge," said Amy VanSickle, marketing director for The Resort. "We are excited to offer another outdoor dining experience for our guests this winter."

Igloo guests will have tasty seasonal beverages from which to choose — pumpkin martinis, apple old fashioneds, huck hot chocolates and pumpkin Russians.

Appetizers and entrees are available as well, including prime rib sliders, clam chowder, roasted garlic shrimp and salmon cakes. Don't forget dessert. Warm huckleberry cobbler and apple pie will round out the Indulgent Igloo experience.

Seating is open from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Reservations for two-hour time periods are required from 4 to 10 p.m.

A $75 reservation fee includes a complimentary bottle of champagne upon arrival; $150 minimum food and beverage purchase during reservation, subject to change on holidays or special occasions.

Reservations open Friday.
