Notable calls for the day!

Day Shift handled the following notable calls:
• Deputies responded to N. Smith Ave. for a structure fire, unknown if occupied. On scene the R/P stated he believed a small fire started somewhere in his house approximately 5 hours earlier. When he could not find it to put it out, he called his mother, who called 911. It appeared to be electrical and in the walls. Hauser Fire was working on locating the fire to extinguish it. Incident report completed.
• Deputies handled a dump truck vs. Jeep crash at Lancaster and Huetter. This was also due to the ice on the roadway. The Jeep rolled after being struck by the dump truck. Three vehicles involved, only minor injuries, medical refused.
• A Deputy responded to W. Rive Ave in Hauser for an assault report. The R/P yelled at a passing speeder in the area. The speeder, stopped, got out of his car and punched the R/P in the face. The suspect was charged for battery.
• A Patrol Sergeant handled a two vehicle, non-injury crash at Salmonberry and Prairie.
• Deputies assisted Detectives in recovering a stolen Suburban and car hauling trailer from Spuler Ln. in Hauser.
• Deputies responded to the Bennet Bay Inn for a report of a suicidal male. A male had made a statement over the phone with Health and Welfare that he was upset and threatened to take "all his medication." The male was located parked in a turn out along Coeur d' Alene Lake Dr. When interviewed, he admitted he was angry over a hotel bill from the Budget Saver. He said he was upset but not suicidal. He was put in contact with family members.
• A Deputy responded to W. Kyler Ave for a battery. Three of the residents were physically fighting and suffered minor injuries. After the investigation a male was charged with battery. While investigating the above incident, the Deputy found one of the staff members had an active warrant for phone harassment. He was arrested and the manager of the facility responded to take care of the residents.
Evening Shift handled the following notable calls:
• A Deputy responded to Walmart for an FTC Fraud that occurred over several days earlier. The victim called to report that her credit card was stolen in CDA and used at several locations throughout Kootenai County and Spokane. The Deputy was able to get suspect information, however, her identity is unknown at this time.
• Deputies responded to an address on Lancaster for a report of a threatening. It was reported that a 21 year old female was not being allowed to leave the residence by her parents despite wishing to. On scene it was learned the female, who has lived at home her entire life, had suddenly chose to move to South Carolina to live with a male she met on the internet. They spoke to the female about the dangers of moving in with strangers across the country where she has no support, source of income, or modes of transportation. She understood the gamble and ultimately chose to leave. The deputies assisted the woman on making a safe exit from the residence.
• A Deputy stopped a vehicle at McGuire and Hayden. The vehicle was previously called in as a possible DUI. The driver showed signs of intoxication. A subsequent DUI investigation occurred and driver was arrested for DUI Excessive. .254/.254 20-48535
Night Shift handled the following notable calls:
• Deputies assisted ISP with a stolen vehicle at Hwy 95 X Northwest Blvd. Two male suspects were taken into custody by ISP. 20-48569
Deputies responded to a slide off at Prairie X McGuire. While on scene, Deputies learned a male was inside the vehicle and was suicidal. He was placed into protective custody and transported him to KH.
• Deputies responded to Amerimart in Stateline for a welfare check. A passerby reported a female was on scene “acting intoxicated” looking for a ride. Deputies arrived and located a passenger vehicle crashed into a ditch on the west side of the building. Deputies contacted a male and female. The male was identified as the driver of the vehicle and was charged for excessive DUI (.202/.201). 20-48592
