SHERIFF: This is your job

Regarding your “job ahead,” Mr. Norris, I am not interested in your political leanings and am concerned your need to express such in a public forum at this point may interfere with the true task in front of you; enforcement of the law as written.

It is my understanding that it is not your place to interpret the law, selectively enforce laws or parts of law, or determine what laws are in place. Surely, as a public leader you will be called upon to render opinions and information regarding relevant concerns in the community and I respect that, but I remind you, that as a part of the government, your duty is to serve and protect all citizens and not rule.
