AP: Separate opinion, news

In Sunday’s Press, Dave Oliveria stated in his letter to the editor that in his column he has kept his “own counsel” on politics and “will continue to do so.” I respect him for doing that.

Later in the paper, an article by AP Washington Bureau Chief Julie Pace is printed (“It’s Time to Choose”). It is basically a love letter to Biden. In it she writes that those who support Trump are mainly white and of low income and educational levels whereas the supporters of Biden are highly educated and are “particularly women and voters of color.”

Say what?! If The Press had taken Mr. Oliveria’s lead, they would not have chosen this article to print. It is an opinion piece, not news.
