Vandals' 2017 win over Louisiana Monroe to be re-aired today.
Vandal Rewind returns today at noon with Idaho football's win over Louisiana Monroe in 2017.
Fans can catch the action, including new interviews with coaches and student-athletes, on the TuneIn App, at GoVandals.com/Listen and on select Vandal Radio Network stations, like ESPN 700 and 105.3 FM.
Idaho returned home to take on ULM in late October in 2017, celebrating Dad’s Weekend and Leadership Weekend in Moscow. The impressive crowd was not disappointed, as the Vandals put on a show early.
“We had a really good plan,” Idaho coach Paul Petrino said after the game. “As a staff we came up with a good plan. I think our players really executed it well and our offensive line protected a lot better. You give Matt (Linehan) time, he’s going to hit people.”
And hit people he did. Linehan found future Hamilton Tiger-Cat David Ungerer for a 26-yard score early. He then put the Vandals up 21-0 midway through the second quarter on a 45-yard touchdown to future New Orleans Saint Kaden Elliss. The Vandals headed into the break up 28-7 after another Linehan touchdown, this time to Alfonso Onunwor. Linehan had a masterful first half, going 18 of 27 for 249 yards and three scores.
The Vandals used a steady dose of Aaron Duckworth to slow the game down in the second half and secure the win.
“Duck’s been playing well all year,” Petrino added after the game. “He’s been playing with a great spirit, been playing hard. He really bounced it well. And what I like about him is the way he finished a couple of those runs. He finished a couple of those runs like a warrior.”
