KEA launches search for director

| November 5, 2020 1:00 AM

COEUR d'ALENE — Kootenai Environmental Alliance is searching its next executive director.

"Nearing our 50th anniversary, we're at a pivotal time in our organization's history," according to a press release. "We're critically evaluating programs, projects and initiatives that are a part of how KEA fulfills our mission."

KEA is moving from being "event and grant dependent" to an organization with multiple revenue streams.

"We're looking for a passionate leader with nonprofit or business background," the release said. "You'll have a proven record of coaching teams, empowering volunteers, supporting a board of directors, and fundraising via diversified revenue streams. And, you just might have the skill sets we need to ensure that we continue to conserve, protect and restore the environment in North Idaho and the Idaho Panhandle."

Kari Anderson was hired earlier this year as interim executive director on a contract basis through Dec. 31.

Anderson has been assessing infrastructure, budget and fundraising goals, staffing needs and program initiatives as KEA prepares for its golden anniversary in 2022.
