KCSO deputies nab suspect, end pursuit on 95
ATHOL — Kootenai County Sheriff's Office deputies helped in the arrest of a man being pursued in connection with a stolen vehicle early Wednesday.
Justin D. Morley, 19, Sandpoint, was charged with felony eluding, grand theft, possession of marijuana and paraphernalia. Additional charges out of Bonner County are pending.
According to a press release, KCSO received an agency assist call from Bonner County about 12:45 a.m. It was reported that Bonner County deputies were in pursuit of a stolen vehicle southbound on U.S. 95 approaching Kootenai County.
It was also reported the male was armed with a stolen shotgun and had burglarized several other vehicles and businesses in Bonner County, the release said.
KCSO deputies and Idaho State Police set up spike strips at the county line, but Morley avoided them by traveling southbound in the northbound lanes.
Kootenai County deputies took over the pursuit at the county line and "a short time later a Pursuit Intervention Technique was completed which ended the pursuit," the release said.
Morley, who has no prior criminal history in Kootenai County, was taken into custody without incident.
