COLUMN: Name that player

A comment on Anne M. Peterson’s column on college football, the first thing that came to my mind when I saw the photo and read the caption about Southern California quarterback Kedon Slovis on page 4 were the words from the Johnny Cash ballad, “A Boy Named Sue:”

“And I think about him now and then

Every time I try and every time I win

And if I ever have a boy

I’ll name him

Bill or George or Frank

Anything but Sue!”

Ah, I miss the days of John McKay, Junior…!
