ANNIVERSARY MILESTONE BIRTHDAY

| May 31, 2020 1:00 AM

Dennis and

Michele Heuer

50th Anniversary

Michele and Dennis Heuer will drink a toast to celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on June 4, 2020, and afterward they probably will go for a 50-mile run to commemorate the occasion. They met while they were in high school at Coeur d’Alene High (Go Vikings) and married at the First Presbyterian Church in Coeur d’Alene. Their deep ties to this city have kept them here, living in their log home, but their motorcycles have taken them on many adventures.

Denny and Michele have a dynamic family with two children and four grandchildren: Brad Heuer, his wife, Shawna and their children, Alicia, Thad, and Sean; and Jill Cameron, her husband, Eric, her daughter, Paige Martin and Paige’s husband, Austin.

Their 50th anniversary plans include a trip to see the Indy 500 in August and more road trips on their motorcycles and in their camper trailer. Rock on!

Wayne Kies

100th Birthday

Wayne Kies celebrated his 100th birthday on April 30, 2020. Wayne was born on April 30, 1920, in South Dakota and after serving in the Army during Worth War II, he settled down in Coeur d’Alene with his wife of 76 years, Kathleen.

Wayne worked for Kaiser Aluminum in Spokane for 40 years. In the early ’60s, Wayne built a cabin on Lake Coeur d’Alene and spent a lot of time enjoying the summers with family and friends there. Once retired Wayne and Kathleen traveled back and forth from Coeur d’Alene to Yuma, Ariz., as snow birds.

Finally after many years, they settled down in Pocatello, Idaho, where they currently live. Still at 100, when Wayne hears music his feet start to moving and he just has to dance.

Last year, Wayne had the privilege of going to Washington, D.C., with the Utah Honor Flight. He was the oldest veteran at 99, and it was one the highlights of his life.
