The number of coronavirus cases in the Panhandle Health District remains low.

PHD on Wednesday reported a total of 79 COVID-19 cases. It is no longer monitoring 68 of those individuals.

There are 66 in Kootenai county, four in Bonner County, and four in Benewah County.

In the past 12 days, since restaurants, salons and gyms reopened in Idaho, there have been two new cases in Kootenai County. Symptoms can appear two to 14 days after exposure to the virus, according to PHD.

Five of the cases are still being investigated to determine what county they reside in.

The Coeur d’Alene Tribe, which reopened its Coeur d’Alene Casino on May 1 to the general public, on Monday confirmed four new cases of the coronavirus, bringing the number of cases on the reservation to five.

Under Gov. Brad Little’s “Idaho Rebounds” plan, bars can reopen on Saturday.
