Caldwell man dies in crash

One person is dead after a Wednesday night crash near Spirit Lake.

Idaho State Police responded to a crash on Spirit Lake Cutoff and Polonium Way at 6:09 p.m. on March 27.

Johnnie Longest II, 56, of Caldwell, was driving southbound on Spirit Lake Cutoff Road, according to police. He reportedly left the roadway and the vehicle struck trees. He was not wearing a seatbelt and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Next of kin has been notified.

The investigation is ongoing.
