Post Falls man dies after crash

A man died after a car crash this morning in Post Falls.

Idaho State Police responded to a crash on Chase Road in Post Falls around 6 a.m. this morning. Post Falls Police were first on the scene.

Steven A. Smith, 48, of Post Falls, reportedly rolled through the parking lot on the southwest corner of Chase Road and Seltice Way, came across Chase Road and stopped at Cornerstone Christian Academy.

Post Falls Police performed life-saving measures on Smith, who was transferred to Kootenai Health and later pronounced deceased.

There was minimal damage to Smith’s vehicle, a blue 2007 Honda CRV, or to Cornerstone Christian Academy.

Police said the crash is believed to be medically related but is still under investigation.
