Raven D. Blackburn, 18, of Post Falls was taken into custody Saturday evening on charges of aggravated DUI.

Kootenai County Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to the area of South Signal Point Road and South Mariah Road in Post Falls for a reported injury accident. Upon arrival, they learned a 2014 Polaris Razor UTV was being driven by Blackburn.

According to sheriff’s office reports, Blackburn had a juvenile female passenger inside the UTV and another adult passenger in the bed of the UTV. Blackburn lost control on a curve and rolled the UTV, causing the passenger in the bed to be ejected and juvenile to be pinned.

Both passengers were transported to an area hospital via ambulance with serious, but non-life threatening, injuries, the sheriff’s office reported. None of the occupants was using safety restraints or wearing helmets.

Alcohol is believed to be a factor. Blackburn was also issued citations for minor in possession of alcohol and failure to purchase a driver’s license.
