Timberlake High senior Joey Follini led the Tigers football team to the state 3A semifinals for the second straight year, breaking numerous school records in his career. He was Intermountain League MVP for the second straight year, was first-team all-Idaho at safety, and is headed to the University of Idaho as a preferred walk-on. In wrestling, he took third at state as a junior at 170, and won the state title this year at 182. Follini, who carries a GPA above 3.75, missed out on his senior season of track and field. Hailey Lyons would have started at catcher for Coeur d’Alene High softball team for the fourth year. Her goal this season was to beat the school’s career home run record at the high school — she needed 7 home runs — and also hoped to lead the Vikings back to the state tournament this season. She is also active in French and DECA, where she had qualified to compete in the national competition in Nashville before it was cancelled. She will continue her softball career at the University of Massachusetts-Dartmouth.
