COVID-19: One new case in Kootenai County this week

Panhandle Health District announced one new confirmed case of COVID-19 in the five northern counties this week. The new Kootenai County case was confirmed Thursday.

This brings the total in the Panhandle area to 66, with 62 in Kootenai County and 4 in Bonner County.

So far, Boundary, Benewah and Shoshone counties have reported no confirmed cases.

As of Friday, five of the 66 cases have resulted in hospitalizations. This does not mean the patients are currently hospitalized, according to Panhandle Health District, only that they were hospitalized for COVID-19 and are also confirmed positive with COVID-19.

At this time, 48 of the 66 cases are no longer being monitored.
