More than 800,000 COVID-19 cases worldwide
More than 800,000 cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed worldwide, according to Johns Hopkins University — an increase of more than 200,000 cases since March 28.
As new cases of COVID-19 are reported, an interactive map developed by Johns Hopkins University provides near real-time tracking. The map pulls information from a range of sources to provide daily updates.
The update at 10:28 a.m. on March 31 counted 826,222 total confirmed cases worldwide.
A March 28 update counted 602,262 cases globally.
Countries with the most confirmed cases include:
- United States — 174,467
- Italy — 105,792
- Spain —94,417
Between March 28 and March 31, the United States reported more than 69,000 new cases of COVID-19.
In the same period, confirmed cases in Italy increased by 19,294. Meanwhile, Spain surpassed China as the country with the third-most cases worldwide.
The map also tracks deaths and total recoveries. Worldwide, 40,708 people have died of COVID-19 so far — more than 3,000 of them in the United States.
Eight COVID-19 related deaths have been reported in Idaho so far.
Currently, 174,115 recoveries have been reported worldwide.
