Robert Gene ‘Bob’ Trueblood, 87

Robert Gene “Bob” Trueblood, 87, passed away Tuesday, March 24, 2020, at Hospice of North Idaho, in Coeur d’Alene. He was born Jan. 20, 1933, in Santa Ana, Calif.; the son of Raymond and Louise (Mason) Trueblood.

He attended Catholic schools, Santa Ana High School, and junior college.

Bob was an Air Force Veteran, serving during the Korean Conflict. After an honorable discharge from the Air Force, he began a career working for oil companies, retiring in 1994.

After retirement he went back to school and received a degree from Lewis Clark State College. He spent the next 21 years teaching at Coeur d’Alene High School, Lake City High School, Project CDA and the Juvenile Detention Center, where he was admired by his students and fellow faculty, finally retiring in 2015.

He was a lifetime member of the Elks Club and enjoyed antique classic cars and going to car shows.

Bob is survived by his children: Cathy of Meridian, Idaho, Russ of Hayden, Robert of Spirit Lake, Idaho, and Donna of Coeur d’Alene; and three granddaughters.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Arlene, and his parents.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
