Root Sports to air classic

Big Sky football games

SEATTLE — Beginning April 4, Root Sports will air a total of 30 classic Big Sky football games throughout the month.

The first airing on April 4 at 1:30 p.m. PDT is Montana at Eastern Washington from Sept. 29, 2012. The Eagles trailed the Griz 26-17 with 2:19 to go in the game. And then ... well, if you don’t remember, we don’t want to spoil the ending.

Idaho will have two games featured during the month — its game at Montana State from Oct. 13, 2018, and its home game with EWU last season.

Former Coeur d’Alene High star Chad Chalich is featured in Montana’s Nov. 5, 2016 game vs. Idaho State, which airs April 14.

The series will feature 30 showings during the month and will showcase games mostly from the last decade. A pair of Big Sky national championships, including Eastern Washington’s 2010 FCS title, will also be featured throughout the month.
