Idaho Fish and Game wants to hear from bird hunters regarding a possible swan hunt in Benewah, Bonner, Boundary and Kootenai counties, and shifting the dates of Canada goose and duck seasons.
The department will accept comments until April 3 from bird hunters on the proposed changes, which can be viewed on Fish and Game’s public involvement web page.
The proposals include establishing the first-ever swan hunt in North Idaho, with a total of 50 tags offered on a first-come, first-served basis. They include reducing the bag limit for scaup from three to two. A later Canada goose and duck season is also proposed, and the number of sandhill crane tags may be reduced.
