The 7-foot sophomore averaged 13.8 points and 11.8 rebounds this season, including 22 points, 14 rebounds and four blocked shots against Pullman Christian as the Royals won their fifth straight Mountain Christian League tournament championship. “People naturally look at Malachi and see all the physical gifts and abilities he has at 16, but people don’t see all the hard work and perseverance that he showed this season,” NICS coach Shawn Thompson said.
