Vehicle Licensing closing to public access

The Assessor’s Office Department of Vehicle Licensing will no longer be physically accessible to the public beginning Wednesday, March 25.

Rich Houser, Kootenai County assessor, said the move is “in effort to comply with precautions regarding the COVID-19 virus for our employees and the citizens of Kootenai County, and to maintain operational capacity.”

Vehicle licensing services will remain available through either the mail or parking lot drop-box locations at the Coeur d’Alene and Post Falls locations, according to a press release.

The Idaho Transportation Department has issued a 90-day deferral on existing credentials expiring between March 1 and May 31.
