DISTANCING: Do it for others

| March 22, 2020 1:00 AM

My husband and I returned from Spain just over a month ago. Everything there was totally normal, lots of tourists, full restaurants, bars, and parks. Only a month later, Spain is in total lockdown. More people are dying each day.

I’m upset that some people in the area aren’t taking this seriously. I was at a grocery store a couple days ago to get my prescription. A man was ahead of me in line so I kept back 8 feet. A woman with two teenagers were close enough to read my PIN number. Every time I inched forward to get away from her, she moved forward.

Why is NIC continuing with some classes? Do they think we’re special and no one will get sick here?

My son is a hospital nurse and my daughter and her husband are hospital pharmacists at a large area hospital. Visitors are no longer allowed. People were stealing masks, hand sanitizer and gloves, so staff had to hide them.

I am confused by people who don’t think social distancing is needed, yet some steal from our health care workers on the front lines! Plus hoarding food and toilet paper as well. A couple of grocery stores say they have times seniors can shop, yet they let anyone enter.

Many people aren’t worried but medical professionals understand how dangerous coronavirus is. Social distancing of 6 feet or more works. Even if you think you aren’t at risk, think of others and just do it.
