PRESS: Feeding the frenzy of virus fear
Congratulations to the Cd’A Press for feeding the frenzy on the corona virus. To know emergency responders will be wearing respiratory masks when these masks provide protection only when the wearer is infected is very reassuring. Also knowing the schools are taking special precautions make me wonder why this is not done during normal cold and flu season when with corona virus the most susceptible are the elderly with immune compromised respiratory systems.
I am sure your share holders will enjoy increased sales as the panic is promoted by virtually all media sources. There was at least some good news in the tenth paragraph of the article about Tom Hanks identifying as a “mild or moderate symptoms of fever and cough,” sort of like the flu.
I do recall the Press gave good and full coverage to the Democrats complaining the president’s banning travel from China due to a virus at the end of January as political. Newspapers have always promoted bad news so I see there is nothing new here.
