Blues Festival to rock Coeur d’Alene March 20-22

COEUR d’ALENE — The Coeur d’Alene Blues Festival will return to the Lake City March 20 through 22, featuring a lineup of Grammy nominees, Billboard best-sellers, Blues Music Award nominees and Blues Music Award winners.

The Coeur d’Alene Blues Festival will be held at The Coeur d’Alene Resort and the Hagadone Event Center, overlooking Lake Coeur d’Alene.

“One of the things we enjoy most about bringing this event to the Inland Northwest is hearing the best of blues and soul fill The Resort,” said Amy VanSickle, director of marketing at The Coeur d’Alene Resort. “It’s the kind of music that gets you to your feet and want to dance.”

This year’s main festival is headlined by best-selling blues guitarist Ana Popovic. Popovic just finished a world tour with the Experience Hendrix lineup, featuring Jonny Lang, Buddy Guy and Kenny Wayne Shepherd. She has six BMA nominations and all her albums are top blues sellers. Her latest finished No. 2 on Billboard's Best-Selling Blues Albums. Joining Popovic is the BMA-winning "Sugaray" Rayford, the latest winner of Best Soul Male Artist at the BMAs. His album was nominated for a Grammy.

Friday will commence with afternoon performances by Bubble and Squeak, Rusty and Ginger, and Bobby and Randy. Guests can board the Cruise to The Blues featuring The Doghouse Boyz and the Kenny James Miller Band to watch Lloyd Jones Struggle rock the Hagadone Event Center. Meanwhile, Soul Proprietor will perform in The Resort Convention Center.

Saturday begins with the Rooftop Blues Party featuring Charlie Butts and The Filter Tips and a lunchtime performance at Whisper’s featuring Rusty and Ginger. Ninety-minute cruises featuring Diego Romero will depart all afternoon. This year’s Main Stage Festival lineup features Lloyd Jones Struggle, the Rae Gordon Band, Rayford, Popovic and Whack A Mole.

Sunday will conclude with a Gospel Brunch at Dockside Restaurant featuring Voices 4 Praise Gospel Quartet and a Blues Cruise Sunday Brunch featuring Lloyd Jones Struggle.
