Big Man of Coeur d’Alene is Saturday

| March 13, 2020 1:00 AM

COEUR d’ALENE — The old-fashioned beauty pageant will be flipped upside-down when Big Man of Coeur d'Alene sashays across the Coeur d'Alene Casino Event Center stage on Saturday.

Say goodbye to old traditions and hello to hilarious as local guys show off their talents in this Monty Python-esque event to benefit Coeur d'Alene Summer Theatre.

“Last year, our audience was in stitches," said Coeur d'Alene Summer Theatre executive director Tracey Vaughan. "It is so much fun to watch our local professional men ham it up for a good cause."

Contestants this year include 2019 reigning Big Man of Coeur d'Alene educator Larry Bieber; returning competitors realtor Shane Greenfield and loan originator Marvin Sears; and new competitors fitness instructor Mike Larsen, educator Chris Pickens, attorney Mike Rude, nonprofit leader Jeremy Sells and singer Alex Vargas.

The event will include community judges Jeff Conroy, Jamé Davis, Kiki Miller, Marilee Wallace and Jay Carkhuff. The casino is offering discounted hotel rooms for patrons of the event — mention the code 5053.

A no-host bar available in the event center starting at 6 p.m. The show begins at 7 p.m.

Tickets are $25 and can be purchased at www.cdasummertheatre.com or 208-660-2958.

The Coeur d'Alene Casino Resort Hotel is at 37914 S. Nukwalqw St., Worley.
