Suzanne Bea (Soltman) Tagney, 78

| March 11, 2020 1:00 AM

Suzanne Bea (Soltman) Tagney was born on Oct. 21, 1941, to Alfred and Goldie Kesner of Chicago. She graduated from Roosevelt University in 1963, with a Bachelor of Arts in elementary education. In December 1963, Suzanne married Theodore Soltman and they made their home in Pittsburgh.

Suzanne taught sixth grade until their son, Michael, was born. They later welcomed daughter, Eileen. Once the children were born, Suzanne enjoyed being a stay-at-home mother, pouring all the love that she had into her family. The family moved briefly to Maryland and then to California in 1972. Suzanne lovingly cared for her husband, Ted, as he battled cancer from the spring of 1975 until he passed away in October of 1977.

In February 1979, Suzanne married George Tagney. In June 1981 they welcomed their son, John, to the family. In 1990, Suzanne, George and John moved to the Pacific Northwest, living in Washington and Idaho until she passed away on March 7, 2020, in Coeur d’Alene.

Suzanne was preceded in death by both of her husbands, Theodore Soltman and George Tagney; her son, John Tagney; and her granddaughter, Janaleah Madson.

She is survived by her children Michael (Pam) Soltman and their children, Victoria and Alex, of Granite Falls, Wash., and Eileen (Eric) Madson and their children, Caleb and Damon, of Bonners Ferry, Idaho; and her sister, Barbara (Richard) Silverman, of Winnetka, Ill.

The memorial service for Suzanne will be at noon Saturday, March 14, 2020, at the Hospice of North Idaho Events Center, located at 2290 W. Prairie Ave., Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. Viewing will be from 11:30 a.m. to noon.
