Lucero, Silva advance to semis as NIC sits in seventh
COUNCIL BLUFFS, Iowa — Andres Lucero (125 pounds) and Salvador Silva (149) advanced to today’s semifinal round for North Idaho College, which sits seventh with 57 points after the first day of the NJCAA Tournament at the Mid-American Center on Friday.
Lucero beat Corwin Strachan of Cowley 4-0 to advance to the semifinals. Silva beat Keana Desantos of Colby by a 6-2 decision at 149 pounds.
Hunter Gregerson (184) and Cohle Feliciano (285) advanced to the All-American round, awarded to the top eight finishers.
Clackamas leads the tournament with 84.5. points.
Semifinals begin today at 8:30 a.m. PST, with national championship matches at 5 p.m.
