DECENCY: Let it go viral

The following inscription is carved into the fireplace below the mantel in the State Room in the White House, our White House, at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave., Washington, D.C.

“I pray Heaven to bestow the best of Blessings on this House and on all that shall hereafter inhabit it. May none but honest and wise Men ever rule under this roof.”

I pray for kindness, integrity, conscience, respect, connection, caring and understanding. I am saddened by meanness and hate.

Movies such as “Mr. Rogers” and “Little Women” remind us to be better human beings. Lest I forget, I rewatched “The Green Book.” We can make a difference!
