LEGION BASEBALL: Lums tie one, drop one
COEUR d’ALENE — A long, hot day for the Coeur d’Alene Lumbermen ended with a tie and a loss on Tuesday at Coeur d’Alene High’s Ted Page Field.
The Spokane Expos scored five runs in the top of the seventh inning in the afternoon game, and tied the Lums 12-12 in a game called after seven.
In the evening game, Coeur d’Alene fell 11-4 to the Kennewick Outlaws.
In the afternoon game, Landen Thompson went 3 for 4 and scored three runs for Coeur d’Alene. Payton Childers drove in three runs, and Alex Karns had two hits.
In the evening tilt, Karns had two hits and Marcus Manzardo drove in two runs for the Lums.
Eden Blanco hit a solo homer and drove in three runs for Kennewick.
Coeur d’Alene (8-8-1) is scheduled to return to action Sunday with a doubleheader at Kalispell.
