STORE: Now that I like
Thank you Fred Meyer. I didn’t go to a store for more than two months this spring, family shopped for me. I started doing my own shopping about three weeks ago, going at 7:30 at night, wiping my cart and always wearing a mask.
I usually go to Fred Meyer or Winco. One recent morning, I went to Winco at 7 a.m. as stores have been encouraging shopping early in the day. I was in the store for 20-25 minutes and wore my mask. I did not see anyone else (customers or employees) wearing a mask.
I went to Fred Meyer and walked in around 7:45 a.m. I was there 20-25 minutes. By the door were supplies to clean your cart/cart handle. Almost all the employees wore masks. Everyone in the bakery and deli had them. None did at Winco. More than half the customers wore masks. I felt safe as long as I kept my distance from others.
Many people have lower immune systems due to age, a medical condition, or both. Since the lifting of restrictions in Idaho, many people think they can do things like they did before COVID-19. Any doctor will tell you the risk is still here. Mine has advised me to stay home as much as possible.
This is why I value what I saw at Fred Meyer. I know where I will shop for the time being and encourage you to consider where you shop if you are at higher risk for COVID.
