Man dies in crash

A Spirit Lake man died Sunday evening in a single car crash on Highway 54 near Red Dell Loop Road.

Christopher W. Peterson, 50, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to Idaho State Police.

Troopers said Peterson was driving west at a high rate of speed around 7:15 p.m. about 4 miles east of Spirit Lake when his vehicle left the road and Peterson was ejected.

The crash is under investigation, police said.
