Richard and Barbara Shern
60th Anniversary
Dick and Bobbie celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on June 12, 2020. They were married in the Coeur d’Alene First Presbyterian Church by Rev. L.W. Winkle. A family celebration will be held later this summer.
Dick and Bobbie met at the University of Idaho and were married one week after Bobbie’s graduation in June 1960.
Their first two years were spent in St. Louis, Mo., where Bobbie taught school and Dick finished his dental education.
They spent almost five years in the U.S.A.F. which included tours in Sacramento, Calif., and the Azores, Portugal.
After 28 years of private dental practice in Concord, Calif., Dick and Bobbie returned to Coeur d’Alene.
Their family includes three sons and six grandchildren: Dr. Bradley Shem, his daughters, Lauren and Lindsay; Scott Shern, his wife, Erika and their children, Sam and Sophie; and Steve Shem, his wife, Jennifer and their children, Matthew and Abby.
O’Connell-Quinn
Frank and Marcy O’Connell are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Kara Kristine to JD Quinn, son of Dr. and Mrs. James Quinn of Garland, Texas.
Kara is a 2007 graduate of Coeur d’Alene High School and 2012 graduate of the University of Montana. She received her juris doctorate at the University of Virginia Law School in 2016. She is employed with Shearman & Sterling in Dallas, Texas.
JD is a 2004 graduate of Garland High School and 2008 graduate of the University of Montana. He is executive vice president with Weisz Selection in Weston, Texas.
A wedding is planned for July 2020 in Big Sky, Mont. The couple will reside in Frisco, Texas.
