LEGION BASEBALL: Lums drop two on Bozeman trip

BOZEMAN, Mont. — The Coeur d’Alene Lumbermen took a one-run lead into the top of the sixth inning of their first game on Friday.

A 14-run uprising by the Yakima Beetles changed everything.

The Beetles went on to top the Lums 22-13.

Later Friday, Coeur d’Alene fell 10-7 to the Bozeman Bucks, a team the Lums beat 4-1 on Thursday.

Against Yakima, Dylan Brum’s two-run single in the bottom of the fifth put Coeur d’Alene up 8-7. Landen Thompson went 2 for 4 with 3 RBIs for the Lums, Riley Smith was 3 for 4 with 2 RBIs, and Marcus Manzardo was 3 for 5 and scored twice.

Against Bozeman, Thompson hit a two-run triple in the fifth inning, and finished 3 for 4 with 3 RBIs. Quinn Conces and Alex Karns each had a pair of hits.

The Lums (1-6) are scheduled to wrap up their five games in three days in Bozeman today, facing the Yakima Beetles and the Missoula Mavericks.
