The Rathdrum Chamber of Commerce announced that its new executive director is Ashley Moore.

Moore replaces Christine Drube, who resigned.

Originally from western Washington, Moore earned a bachelor’s in recreation management and leadership from Eastern Washington University. She said she discovered a passion for community outreach while working for the YMCA.

She brings her experience as the executive director of the Wahkiakum Chamber of Commerce in Cathlamet, Wash., to her new position.

Moore lived in Rathdrum while attending Eastern Washington University. When she had the opportunity to return to North Idaho, more than a year ago, she said she jumped at the chance.

“I fell in love with the area and always knew I wanted to come back,” she said. “It just felt like home.”

As Idaho reopens after COVID-19 forced the shutdown of many businesses, this is an especially challenging for local business owners. With that in mind, Moore said sustainability and growth are key.

“We’re all going through this together,” she said. “We can all relate. There will be struggles for everyone in the coming weeks and years, but I’m excited to see how we can all get through this as a community.”

She pointed to the multitude of community events the Rathdrum Chamber of Commerce organizes each year as an opportunity for growth and tourism.

“I have a passion for where I live, where I work and where I play,” Moore said. “It’s about growing my home.”
