Courtney Klagues, 21

| June 10, 2020 1:00 AM

Courtney Klagues, 21 years old, from Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, passed away on May 31, 2020.

Courtney was born in Las Vegas on March 8, 1999. She graduated from Coeur d’Alene High School and was attending the University of Montana, where she was studying political science. She planned to go on to earn a law degree, in order to give a voice to children who do not have a voice during difficult legal processes. She was going to be their guardian ad litem.

Courtney loved all things outdoors. She was an avid bass fisherman, a bowhunter and she loved rolling down a dirt road in her Jeep, with the windows down, her black lab, Waylon, in the passenger seat and country music blaring.

Courtney will be fondly remembered for all eternity by her father, Lance Klagues; step-mother, Peggy Klagues; mother, Karen Klagues; grandfather, Clifford Kohler; sister, Paulina Minnick; brother-in-law, Joshua Minnick; grandfather, Richard Klagues; grandmother, Marry Lee Klagues; aunt, Kelly Perkins; uncle, Kent Perkins; aunt, Kristy Klagues; uncle, Bob Metzger; aunt, Kerry Shilling; uncle, Mike Shilling; cousin, Lexy Perkins; cousin, Nick Perkins; cousin, Alec Hornbuckle; cousin, JR Klagues; great-aunt, Barbara McHolland and an endless list of friends that stretch from Nevada and through Idaho and Montana.

Courtney was an extraordinary soul filled with love, compassion, caring, empathy and kindness. She brightened the lives of everyone around her. Her love was the type that raised all people up and the world will be a lesser place without her. Heaven has truly gained its most beautiful angel. Courtney loved Jesus and we know that he is holding her in his arms, and helping her build her dream in Heaven that she did not get to finish here on Earth. She dreamed of owning a little ranch with 20 cows, baby goats and other animals, as a place for her and her family and friends to go to that was both peaceful, beautiful and had a key under the mat. May she rest in peace.

A public viewing will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. on Friday, June 12, 2020, at Palm Mortuary on Eastern.

The private church service will be held at 10 a.m. on June 13, 2020, at Life Springs Church, in Henderson, Nev. Her funeral will be held privately at 2 p.m. in Boulder City, Nev., on June 13, 2020.
