Rutherford, a freshman at Gonzaga who played high school ball at Post Falls High, had three hits, including a solo home run in the team’s 12-6 win over the Coeur d’Alene Lumbermen at Thorco Field on June 3. Rutherford also had three hits and a run scored for Premier in a rematch with the Lumbermen on Monday, pitching two innings of scoreless relief to get the win. On May 31, Rutherford struck out eight in three innings against Coeur d’Alene.
