ADLER: Something to remember

| June 3, 2020 1:00 AM

Respectfully, Mr. Adler seemingly leaves out the fact that our civil liberties defined in the Bill of Rights of the U.S. Constitution clearly state that they are “inalienable” natural rights. Meaning, these are rights we are born with and not provisioned or otherwise modified in any way by government.

The primary issue is that people conflate civil liberties with civil rights… Civil rights are human made laws that grant specific rights to people… Civil liberties are very different and there is currently no provision in the Constitution to restrict our civil liberties during a pandemic. It is for this very reason our country now finds itself in a true Constitutional crisis.
