For the second year in a row, the Art on the Green poster contest was won by a teenager.

This year, the winner is Sage Pedersen, a 14-year-old incoming freshman at Coeur d'Alene High School.

Sage's poster shows her dog, Ozzy, holding a paintbrush. The poster was one of 32 posters submitted to the board of Art on the Green. Board members chose their favorite five posters and posted them on the website for a public vote. Sage's poster was the biggest vote-getter.

Sage has had a love for art since she was first able to hold a crayon in her hand. She loves music and is an accomplished cello player. She is fond of plants, with a special affection for succulents, and she loves to be outside, hiking, riding ATVs and camping. She has two dogs and five chickens, who are often subjects of her paintings. She also participates in cross country running, hurdles, basketball, downhill skiing and wake surfing.

Sage had a youth booth at last year's Art on the Green. She was inspired by this experience to meet other artists and to meet people who stopped by her booth and purchased her paintings.

Viewers can see Sage's art on her Instagram account, “sagepedersen.” She will also be on www.artonthegreen.org in the Virtual Marketplace.

Art on the Green officials congratulate Sage and know that her artistic success will be enjoyed by Art on the Green and many more in the future.
