POLICE: Major overhaul not needed

Most entities can always use fine tuning and careful discipline. A few individuals, in most any group, need “high maintenance” and all of us need a bit of discipline (change of attitude) now and then.

However, I believe our Police and Sheriff’s Department are doing a very good job and a major overhaul is not needed. Continued maintenance and discipline are always needed.

I personally observed two difficult situations, one in my living room, here in Hayden, with a mentally ill person and another on the nearby street, where Deputies used patience and skill in defusing the situation.

It seems to me that the police are shot more and abused much more — in our county — than the felons. Somebody needs to be in charge and I vote for the police not the felon.
