Nonresident deer tags selling out fast

| July 2, 2020 1:00 AM

Nonresident hunters who plan to hunt whitetail deer in the Panhandle should purchase tags now, as the regular non-resident whitetail tags sold out last week, and nonresident elk tags sold out earlier this month.

Regular nonresident deer tags sold out on June 26, but some whitetail-only tags remain, according to Idaho Fish and Game. Based on projections, the nonresident whitetail only tag should sell out by Aug. 1. Elk tags sold out about two weeks earlier than projected.

IDFG has limited nonresident over-the-counter general hunt tags to 12,815 elk tags, 14,000 regular and white-tailed deer tags and 1,500 nonresident white-tailed deer tags.
