Naomi Ruth Pomerinke, 91

Naomi Ruth Pomerinke, 91, went to her heavenly home on Jan. 11, 2020. Naomi had a long and healthy life until Dec. 23, 2019, when she received a diagnosis of cancer. Her devotion to her family and to Jesus gave her peace until she left this earth.

Naomi was born to John and Ruth Bennett in Joseph, Ore. Her family was blessed to have her in their lives for many years. She married the late Ernest W. Pomerinke on June 26, 1945. Together they raised two children, who were loved more than anything else in this world. Naomi was a caregiver at heart and took care of those around her, both in her professional and personal life. Even in her last moments, Naomi wanted to take care of her family and make sure they would be OK without her. She is dearly missed by her loved ones, who celebrate the fact that she is now at peace, pain free and dancing in Heaven.

Naomi is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Lynda and Dave Kelly of Prichard, Idaho; two grandchildren: Suzie (Alan) Adams of Rathdrum and Mike (Jennifer) Kelly of Medford, Ore.; and five great-grandchildren: David Buchanan of Coeur d’Alene; Jonathon Buchanan of Niihama, Ehime, Japan; Gwendolyn Kelly, Owen Kelly and Nolan Kelly of Medford, Ore.; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. Naomi is preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Pomerinke; son, Les Pomerinke; her parents; seven sisters and two brothers.

Naomi’s celebration of life will be held on Friday, March 27, 2020, at English Funeral Chapel, 1700 N. Spokane St., Post Falls, Idaho. The service will start at 11:30 a.m., with lunch to follow.

The family gratefully asks that in lieu of flowers, a donation in Naomi’s name be made to Hospice of North Idaho- Schneidmiller House, who lovingly cared for Naomi and her family during her last days. Prayers, condolences and memories are gladly accepted by her family.
