INSURANCE: Explain the hikes

Talking to my sister-in-law the other day, she told me that her auto insurance, on her 2010 Ford Escape, went from $90 per month to $150 per month. WHY?

I have been watching the NFL playoff games for the last couple of weeks and noticed all of the auto insurance ads. These ads cost money to produce and more money to air during prime time programming. Who is paying for these ads when they all say they will give you a discount if you sign up with them?

Maybe so, but hold onto your wallet/purse for it won’t be long after signing up, you will be paying for production and airing of these ads. My sister-in-law is with one of these advertised auto insurance companies. Who do you have covering your vehicle(s)?
