REFUGEES: Keep them out

| January 10, 2020 12:00 AM

President Trump signed an executive order allowing cities and states to opt-out of refugee resettlement.

Than why is Governor Little explicitly requesting that more refugees be sent to our state?

Many communities are already struggling and the last thing we need is more low-skilled workers. They stress the schools and social programs while not fully integrating. Many if not all of them will become Democratic voters in the future.

Government-funded charities that act as refugee contractors will profit from it but not Idahoans. The U.S. State Department pays $2,100 per refugee, of which they get to keep 45%. These government-funded charities will profit from it and cost the taxpayer a huge amount of money for decades and low income workers their job in Idaho.

It is not a Christian virtue to take other people’s money by force and give it away. Our taxes will pay for the refugees and nobody asked us what we think about it. Shouldn’t we, the taxpayers, have an input in this matter?

As a governor, he has a moral imperative to advance the interest of the citizens in Idaho. We have people in need of housing, food, medical care, jobs and our roads and infrastructure are in need of repair.

Trump did the right thing of letting governors opt-out. Then why is Governor Little abandoning us Idahoans on this issue? Follow the money!
