Kootenai County combine set for Sunday
• SPORTS
Do you have dreams of playing sports in college?
Ever wanted to participate in an event similar to the NFL Draft combine?
For those the Hayden area, you’re in luck this Sunday.
Peak Fitness will host a Kootenai County Combine at their facility located at 95 West Centa in Hayden on Sunday from 3 to 5 p.m.
“We did a test run a few weeks ago, and it takes two hours to go through all the testing,” said Bryan Janzen, Peak Coeur d’Alene/Post Falls Fitness director.
The event is open to students from third grade to high school.
Participants will be tested in the 40-yard dash, vertical jump, long jump, L Drill, Sled Push, Reaction Drill, Push Ups, Pull Ups and functional movement to detect and address muscular imbalances.
The combine will be directed by Peak trainers from Post Falls, Coeur d’Alene and Hayden.
“We’ve done training for years, and been involved in training for a long time,” Janzen said. “The four clubs just came together and just wanted to get kids in here. We’ve all got a passion for working with kids. It’s our niche, and it all kind of came together this year.”
Participants are encouraged to arrive early to fill out paperwork, such as registration and waivers.
