RENEWABLE: Not full solution
Impossible. 100% renewable is impossible, by 2030 or any other date. It is simply impossible.
Solar is simply not possible. The sun does not shine at night. And more than half the time, it is cloudy here in winter. Go outside and look.
Often the wind does not blow. High pressure around us means there is no reason for the wind to blow, and this condition can last several weeks, so no wind energy.
Right now wind and solar are backed up with hydro electric (dams) or natural gas. What happens when they remove the dams and there is no natural gas? Batteries? But it is simply not possible to build a battery large enough to provide backup power for more than a few hours, let alone weeks.
Batteries are very expensive and some materials are hard to get; most from foreign countries.
100% renewable energy is just someone’s pipe dream. This is simply impossible. Use a little common sense. Fossil fuels have made this the greatest nation in the world and they will keep it that way. 100% renewable is simply impossible.
