Floyd L. ‘Lee’ Williamson
Floyd L. ‘Lee’ Williamson
Jan. 19, 1937 – Feb. 19, 2020
Lee Williamson, a beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2020, surrounded by his family.
Lee was born in Weiser, Idaho, to Floyd J. Williamson and Francis L. Miller. He spent his early years throughout Washington and Alaska with his family, until they finally settled in Kirkland, Wash. After graduating from Lake Washington High School, Lee joined the U.S. Navy and was a proud Yeoman on the U.S.S. Hornet. He moved to Coeur d’Alene in 1971 and started his own company, Williamson Construction, which he owned and operated for over 30 years. He spent his later years enjoying frequent winters in Arizona, trips to Key West, and volunteering for Habitat for Humanity, where he absolutely loved working in the tool department.
Lee met the love of his life and second wife, Jill, in 1985. They loved to golf and were long-time members at Avondale Golf Club. Together with her two kids and his four kids from a prior marriage, they enjoyed years of camping, where he’d go fly-fishing or jet off on a motorcycle ride with the kids. Lee coached his kids’ softball and baseball teams, volunteered for many organizations and loved spending hours in his shop. Lee’s favorite activity, however, was spoiling (and teasing) his grandchildren, sneaking them cookies and reading them bedtime stories.
Lee is survived by his wife, Jill; sister, Gale Cahill of Bothell, Wash. and children LeAnne (Todd) Kolb, Brian (Kathy) Williamson, Stephanie (Randy) Sanford, Jodi Williamson, Julie (Becky) Grabowski and Joanne Rolfe; grandchildren Danielle, Christina, Cody, Amanda, Jamie, Taylor, Caroline, Grace, Jack and Madison; five great-grandchildren and countless friends.
“We’ll miss you Grandpa Lee!”
A memorial will take place later this spring at Avondale Golf Club. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to Habitat for Humanity, where he loved to volunteer.
