DIALOGUE: Goes well with facts
For several years, I have written LTEs to the Coeur d’Alene Press that have been printed and replied to many LTEs online. In both cases, I have criticized many conclusions that were presented because they were not supported by facts.
A recent response to one of my letters asked for the facts supporting my conclusions. I provided those. That exchange illustrates something we need more of in this difficult political time: DIALOGUE.
I am hopeful that we will see more of that in the future, as well as more factually supported statements. It would be helpful to see thoughtful responses rather than personal attacks. I am perfectly content to assume that reluctance to provide facts in support of a conclusion belies the conclusion.
