PREP BOYS BASKETBALL: Lakeside wraps up perfect regular season
PLUMMER — Talon Twoteeth, one of three seniors honored on senior night, scored 10 of his team-high 20 points in a 30-point second quarter as the host Knights closed out a perfect regular season with the victory over the Wampus Cats at Ron Miller Court.
Kenyon Spotted Horse added 19 points, Vander Brown 16, senior Emmitt White 14 for Lakeside (19-0, 8-0 North Star League), which beat Wallace at home 67-46 on Wednesday night in its first game in nine days.
“Last night we were kinda sluggish, so it was nice to get back to the way we are,” Lakeside coach James Twoteeth said.
Cameron Garcia scored a game-high 23 points for Clark Fork (5-13, 2-6), which was originally scheduled to host the game rescheduled from Jan. 18, but graciously offered to play the game at Lakeside so the Knights could have a senior night.
“I thank the Clark Fork coaches for making that happen,” James Twoteeth said. “They didn’t have to do that; it was much appreciated.”
No. 4 seed Clark Fork will play host to No. 5 Kootenai on Monday in a loser-out first-round game of the 1A Division II District 1 tournament. The winner will play No. 1 seed Lakeside on Tuesday at 6 p.m. in a semifinal game at North Idaho College.
