WAKES: Time for solution

| February 19, 2020 12:00 AM

Thank you for printing the opinions regarding wakeboarding on the Spokane River. I witnessed the height of the waves and the action of the waves on a seawall last summer. Wakeboarding belongs on a large body of water where the waves can lose strength before they reach shore.

What is happening to the habitat and wildlife along the riverbank? No other boating activity on the river has the enormous impact that wakeboarding does. A little extra time and gas to get to the main body of the lake from Post Falls is inconvenient, but serves the greater good.

County commissioners, please take the time and energy to resolve this issue before summer.
